NEWS ABOUT ME!

This SCREENSHOT of google search results for the search term "MCSE Boot Camp Veterans" was captured on Monday, September 22, 2008. The business referenced in 5 of the top ten hits is CompTEC Computer Career Center www.comptec.com www.comptec.com . CompTEC first engaged me to optimize their website a few years ago. The keywords we optimized for then were computer career school (16), computer career center(1), computer career training(1). The school redeveloped its website and for some time did not pay attention to optimization. Nevertheless, the site maintained high ranking on Google (the number after each term above is the ranking as of this date).

Recently, the school engaged me again to optimize their site for their MCSE Boot Camp program which is sub marketed to veterans. We achieved the results shown in the screen shot above in just 6 weeks with only 30% of our optimization strategy in place.

Your site can be in Googles top ten.

New and/or newly discovered by me, sites, tools and resources for Web 2.0

I have an ever growing spreadsheet for this and I find new ones so often that it isn't really feasible to post them here at this time. I am talking to some programmers about converting my spreadsheets into database driven applications. If we can do that successfully, I will be able to feed the sites lists to the website from the database. Stayed tuned.

Best Practices

I want a new laptop! Mine will be two years old next month. It has a 1.8 dual core processor and two gigs of ram. I favor 14.1 hp business grade laptops, so I can get a really cool one with a faster processor and more ram, for under $1000.
But, I am a small business and the laptop has been my primary workstation for over a year. I backup my data once a week to a portable USB hardrive. I am perfectly comfortable loading operating systems and the many programs I use, so I don't back up the whole system. I have another workstation, and I have an assistant who has a laptop and a workstation
Business is growing and we have a lot of work product that is essential to continuing services to our clients on our machines and we have been manually transferring data with pen drives and emails. NOT A GOOD SET UP!

We have moved to a server based environment! We now have a strong server with raid 1 and raid 5. The entire system is backed up via remote access to a SAN at one of my clients businesses.

There goes my new laptop money! Putting best practices ahead of personal wants is always the best option.

The exciting, challenging, effective MCSE Boot Camp is one of our longest running and most successful programs.

Invariably, graduates comment, "I never thought I could learn so much, so fast."

The MCSE Boot Camp Certification program is particularly attractive to MGIB eligible veterans. Military veterans have been flying in, staying from 7 - 21 days, and leaving with certifications that demonstrate they are professionals, knowledgeable in their fields.

Using their MGIB education benefits and other available funding, veterans can complete thousands of dollars worth of training while spending only a few dollars of their own. The program is such a great deal it has been written up in virtually every major military magazine. ARMY TIMES, NAVY TIMES, MILITARY TIMES, MILITARY LTD, and many others. Veterans from around the world have taken advantage of this fast track boot camp certification training to improve their military careers, or their post military careers. Steve Hatch, owner and operator of CompTEC, and a veteran himself, notes that despite helping MGIB MCSE boot camp candidates become certified for several years many soldiers still have not heard of the program.

"Updating our website will help even more veterans become aware of the program," Mr. Hatch said.

Economies may stumble and falter, but information technology will always grow. More networks, more programs, more applications are created everyday.
